Performance Leader | Car Rental Consultant
Location: Inland Empire (Ontario, CA) | LA Market + Phoenix
Important Notes
This is a hybrid, field-based role, with approximately 13 days per month spent in the territory (roughly 65% travel).
The role is based in the Inland Empire, with the candidate ideally living in or near Ontario, CA
Territory coverage includes the Inland Empire / Greater LA market, with additional travel to Phoenix, AZ.
The position supports approximately 10 dealer locations across the territory
Car rental industry experience is required. Candidates without this experience will not be considered
WHO YOU ARE
You are a highly motivated, people-focused leader with a passion for training, coaching, and developing teams. You enjoy working closely with frontline employees and leadership and have hands-on experience in the car rental industry, overseeing multiple locations.
You lead by example, build strong relationships, and proactively identify challenges while offering practical solutions. You demonstrate strong core competencies in accountability, adaptability, communication, emotional intelligence, time management, and relationship-building.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
As a Performance Leader, you will join the NRC Team and work closely with car rental leadership and frontline sales teams across your assigned territory. You will manage all aspects of client interaction, from relationship management to hands-on coaching and development of frontline producers.
This role requires frequent travel within the territory and the ability to work independently while maintaining strong alignment with internal and client stakeholders.
HOW YOU WILL DO IT
You will be responsible for associate training and development and the overall profitability of multiple rental car branches. Your focus will include consultative, service-based sales leadership, rental car inventory and utilization management, and sales and financial reporting.
Key responsibilities include:
Partnering with FPG clients to effectively manage rental car operation processes
Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with client leadership teams
Driving incremental sales through effective training and employee development
Managing rental car inventory and utilization across multiple locations within the territory
Providing ongoing consultative support to dealerships
Maintaining accurate and timely operational and performance reports
Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent education and work-related experience
3+ years of car rental industry experience
2+ years of leadership experience
Experience managing direct customer contact, employee relations, budgets, and P&L in a high-volume operation
Strong judgment and decision-making skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proven, team-oriented leadership style with a track record of success
Ability to attract, coach, and develop talent
Working knowledge of sales and performance reporting systems
